This photo was taken on a whim during a parade of the Madonna in Randazzo, Italy. I love how everyone is looking up in wonder while the older couple are fixed in on themselves in this moment. A glancing moment when the shutter snaps, where we all play our part in the act.

Graffiti is one of the few tools you have if you have almost nothing. And even if you don’t come up with a picture to cure world poverty you can make someone smile while they’re having a piss.

The Great Wonder

Beatles Ashram
Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the Beatles Ashram is located just outside of Rishikesh, India. Part pilgrimage, part open-art installation, the Ashram now memorializes not only the Beatles, but is an open expression of art through the graffiti dotted throughout the crumbling yoga campus.
The art is widely seen as a spiritual dialogue between the fans and the space itself. It’s what transformed a set of ruins into a global pilgrimage site that it has become today.
In the Ashram was this beautiful piece of art. I couldn’t help but notice this yellow bird, that has flown into a lightbulb and trying to find its way out. I love the yellow, not only from the bird but the splash at the entry point of the fractured lightbulb.
